Jay Carpenter
Jay is the Founder and Managing Partner of Case Group. Jay has been working as an Advisor for over 12 years successfully sourcing non-auction deals for private equity and strategic buyers in a variety of industries.
Jay began his career as a manufacturing engineer for a computer manufacturing start up called Platypus Technologies based in Sydney Australia. Jay subsequently worked for Gordon Cross Inc. in the plastics industry where he started a division in southern China subcontract manufacturing injection molded products and importing them into North America.
While completing his 2-year MBA program at Babson Jay worked for The Tremont Group, a private equity group focused on investments in the energy sector. Jay moved back to Vermont to raise a family and be closer to skiing, biking, hiking, and wood chopping activities.

Chris Lamonia
Chris joined the Case Group as a Partner in 2019. Chris brings his entrepreneurial passion along with his wealth of business development and management experience, having worked in clean technology, energy, manufacturing, finance, energy efficiency, software, financial services and project development.
For most of Chris’s 20 year professional career, he has worked as a consultant or employee for numerous clean technology companies. Chris founded CalcoGreen, The Renewable Energy Classified Exchange and C3 Energy Capital. After successfully exiting CalcoGreen, which became an add-on acquisition for Xzeres, Chris became the President of the energy efficiency business.
Chris has successfully executed the acquisition of numerous renewable energy portfolios and individual renewable project assets over the past 10 years. Currently, Chris hosts a community solar array on his land in Waitsfield, Vermont and is an active early stage renewable energy investor.
Education:
B.B.A. from Radford University.
During his time at Radford University Chris was a two year captain of the division I lacrosse team.

Beau Noonan
Beau joined the Case Group as a Partner with over a decade of legal and business guidance experience. Beau is a practicing litigator, real estate settlement attorney, and Co-Owner/Managing Partner of several businesses. Beau is admitted to practice law in Vermont, Maryland, and West Virginia.
Originally from Columbus, Ohio and raised in Maryland, Beau has worked in Seattle, Chicago, Columbus and Boston for various start-up and early-stage companies. Beau brings a diverse background to the Case Group with experience in the consumer goods, telecom, technology, and legal industries. Beau knew in college (as the first class to complete UVM Business School’s entrepreneurship concentration) that he would one day exercise those skills to pursue his entrepreneurial passion.
Upon returning to Vermont with his family in 2018, Beau teamed up with his college roommate, Jay Carpenter at the Case Group. Beau continues to develop new businesses and help others get started while enjoying the Vermont outdoors with his family whenever possible.

Erin Chase
Erin joined the Case Group in 2020 as a Research Associate and Administrative Assistant. Over her career, Erin has worked across multiple industries as an administrative consultant, director and research analyst.
Erin is the Founder and Owner of No.19 Skincare Products and the Executive Director of The Janie Chase Cozzi Foundation. She is also an active board member for The Mad River Valley Soccer Association and has a love of coaching and spectating soccer.
Erin lives in Vermont with her husband and youngest son. Her other son is working on his degree at George Washington University School of Business.

D.A. McComas
D.A. joined Case Group as a Partner in 2021. D.A. has spent most of his career in financial services, capital markets and investment roles.
D.A. started his career in the interest rates derivatives market where he helped build out his firm’s exotics desk. After completing his MBA program, D.A. worked at a seed to early-stage VC firm that focused on the tech and healthcare sectors. D.A. then moved to Vermont with his family and spent a few years in his “beer geek” dream job as part of the operations team at a Vermont brewery.

Chris Alberti
Chris joined Case Group as a partner in 2023 with 25 years of experience as a trader and broker on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. During that time on the trading floor, Chris worked as a market maker and as a direct access floor broker servicing hedge funds, banks and asset managers by providing information and executions from the trading floor. In 1992 Chris was hired by JPMorgan securities to build the Floor Trading department as the Glass Steagall Act was being repealed for commercial banks. Chris worked closely with Position and Sales Trading, Research Sales, Investment Banking and the Syndicate department.
After moving his family to Vermont in 2004, Chris planted the first commercial vineyard in the Mad River Valley. He worked closely with a winemaker and a distillery to craft several local wines and spirits. To fulfill a lifelong dream Chris then opened a successful restaurant in Waitsfield, Vermont serving rustic French and Italian cuisine. At his restaurant, Chris performed the duties of Executive Chef as well as curating the wine list and sourcing all of the menu ingredients, wines and spirits.
Joining Case Group is a welcome return to finance for Chris as he wound down his restaurant after 11 years. When Chris is not sitting at his desk he can be found skiing, playing golf, riding his motorcycle or playing with his grandsons!

Kerry MacDonald
Kerry joined the Case Group in the spring of 2023. She brings over two decades of diverse and invaluable experience in administrative roles, marked by exceptional achievements and a relentless pursuit of operational excellence.
Throughout her career, Kerry has been the Assistant to the President at a prestigious fine arts college, an Executive Assistant, HR Manager and Office Manager. Her collaborative approach and positive work environment contribute to the overall success of the teams she engages with. With infectious enthusiasm, unwavering dedication, and a remarkable ability to adapt to dynamic environments, Kerry plays a pivotal role in supporting the seamless functioning of our active M&A firm.
Kerry is a long-time resident of Vermont and resides in the Mad River Valley with her husband and son. Her two adult daughters have also recently returned to central Vermont.
